TWEED - A collection of knitting & crochet patterns with Tweed yarns

At Erika Knight Yarn Collection we offer two marvelous Tweed yarns that are presented in this pattern collection: Pure Tweed and Gossypium Cotton Tweed. While Pure Tweed brings you the joy of a classic rustic Aran weight Tweed yarn, Gossy Tweed (as we lovingly call it) translates the characteristics of a Tweed yarn into cotton.
The patterns (both knitting and crochet!) are designed by four talented knitwear designers. They took inspiration from (botanical) gardens and plants.

MORNING GLORY - cardigan - Rebekka Mauser

MELILOT- Hélène Taboury - top
Melilot is a medicinal and melliferous plant of the clover family. It is quite common all over Europe and western Asia. The small yellow or white flowers gather in dense clusters. If you stand next to the tall plants you can smell their sweet scent that attracts many bees and insects.
The stitch pattern of the Melilot tee creates a gentle movement in the ribbing, recalling the movements of flowers lulled by the hot summer wind.

LANYON - Fabienne Gassmann - jumper

The design takes its inspiration from Victorian wrought iron constructions and exotic ferns just visible through the condensation on the windows of glass houses. The pattern is named after the architect Charles Lanyon, who designed one of the earliest examples of a wrought iron palm house at Belfast Botanic Gardens in 1840.

ROSE GARDEN - Gloria Wille - jumper
This design was inspired by Lynn Anderson's song “(I never promised you) A Rose Garden”. Gloria wanted to create a pattern reminiscent of the rose garden of their grandmother, who loved gardening. The special feature of this pattern is that what is usually considered the "wrong side” of crochet fabric is the right side. When worked like this, the treble crochet stitches look like small blades of grass between the individual roses. Just a small rose garden to carry around with you.
