High mountain Yak yarn, sustainably sourced from Mongolian yak’s living at 1500m which provides the fibre for very warm and awesomely soft yarn. This fibre is the undercoat of the yak, called “Kullu”, during winter, and if not hand-combed by the herders it flows naturally away in springtime. The fibre thickness is similar to cashmere which gives the softness of the yarn. Nomads in Mongolia herders are selecting for us the warmest and softest quality of fibres which after washing and carding are handspun by qualified women in Nepal. Our yarns are hand-dyed by qualified dyers, using ZDHC dyeing colours.
