High Mountain Yak 2-ply light fingering handspun

High mountain Yak yarn, sustainably sourced from Mongolian yak’s living at 1500m which provides the fibre for very warm and awesomely soft yarn. This fibre is the undercoat of the yak, called “Kullu”, during winter, and if not hand-combed by the herders it flows naturally away in springtime. The fibre thickness is similar to cashmere which gives the softness of the yarn.

Nomadic herders who look after the animals select the finest fibers, which are washed and carded before being hand-spun by skilled home spinners in Nepal. The square label on the skein reveals who handcrafted the yarn.

Nomadnoo yarns are hand dyed by qualified dyers using ZDHC dyes.
